Firestorm: Wildfires and Climate Change

Over 200 people came out for our free public forum, FIRESTORM: Wildfires and Climate Change to learn about the indisputable link between climate change and the new level of wildfires we are now experiencing. The goal of our program was to educate the public about the causes and effects of wildfires, the impact of climate change and what can be done about them.

The program began with a video welcome by Congressman Jared Huffman, underscoring the importance of the event.  Radio host, Peter B. Collins then introduced the 6 guest speakers. We were thrilled to gather leaders in the fields of climate change, wildfires, insurance, and healthcare to bring a holistic framework to the conversation.  And we believe that the collaboration across these fields lends new momentum to fire safety outreach efforts and urgency to climate change activism.
